About image

Working as an art director in advertising for 25 years, I escape into painting to experience true creative freedom. In painting there are no rules, no briefs, no strategy no deadlines. Just the fascination with color, texture, the unknown and the abstract. Drawing inspiration from my emotions and subconscious, trying to shut out the intelligent/problemsolving side of my brain as much as possible.

I paint quickly, boldly and most importantly; without preset expectations. I use brushes, knifes, scrapers, I drip and throw the paint. I like to work wet in wet for that way I get the most surprising effects by mixing the paint on canvas.

You could say I let the painting paint itself, with me being its instrument. I have no idea what my next painting will look like, for it never ceases to amaze me what can be created by letting go... Hope you will enjoy.
